Eyewitness Describes Instant When 'Deranged Individual' Attacked Northern Manchester Jewish House of Worship

An individual involved in securing a house of prayer in northern Manchester has shared how a deadly attack unfolded, causing the deaths of a pair of British Jews.

That Thursday, a congregant was within the worship center when the assailant rammed a car into and attacked with a knife attendees gathering for a ceremony to commemorate a significant religious event.

The witness noted that the 'monster' perpetrator sought to bash down the doors of the place of worship, and he recalled barricading the building with fellow worshippers.

Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66 lost their lives in the attack on Thursday, while several more were wounded while helping to safeguard others.

Eyewitness Account of the Violence

Mr Levy, who acts as a Chair of the Trustees at the temple, explained holding the entrances and said that the assailant wielded blades and outdoor items to try to get in.

I witnessed this great, big, evil monster forcefully push the main doors, seeking to force them open with a knife in his hand," he told interviewers.

The single phrase I heard was him saying 'this is what you're going to get for killing our children'.

"That's the only thing he expressed. And we were within the synagogue and we were repeating 'we are not letting this man in'.

He acted like a crazed, violent individual."

Funeral Observed for Deceased

The statements were made as a large gathering took part in the funeral service for one of the victims.

Family members, members from the synagogue group along with a religious leader, and members of the broader community came together in the local area to pay their respects.

Mourners occupied the gravesite, with a number waiting outdoors the ceremony space in the downpour, hearing the proceedings over loudspeakers.

Through a statement released on the following day, his relatives said that he would "do anything to help anyone".

Law Enforcement Investigation and Detentions

Local authorities indicated that the individual appeared to have been struck by officer shots as they engaged the assailant following the alarm was raised.

The victim, who was described by his loved ones as a "hero", was attending a service at the synagogue when the attack began.

He had been a dear family member, devoted uncle to his family members and a dear extended family member," his relatives noted.

His loved ones are stunned by the tragic, sudden death of such a lovely down to earth man.

"His final act demonstrated great bravery and he remains in memory for his courageous effort."

Several arrests were conducted in regarding the violence, and officials confirmed that four people were under arrest on Sunday morning.

The detained were detained for commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.

Those arrested consist of a pair of males, aged 30 and 32 and detained in the local area; a female in her 60s detained locally; and a woman in her 40s arrested in Farnworth.

An 18-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were freed with no further action, authorities reported on the following day.
