NFL Recap: Broncos Stage Fourth-Quarter Rally Against Eagles, Ravens Suffer Historic Home-field Defeat

Broncos Overcome Eagles in Thrilling Finish

Bo Nix found a short touchdown pass and the running back contributed another rushing score in the fourth quarter as the Denver Broncos erased a 14-point deficit to hand the Eagles their initial defeat of the season. The Broncos batted down the Eagles quarterback's last-gasp attempt on the game's concluding play to send the Super Bowl champions to just their second loss in their previous 22 outings. Denver (three wins and two losses) caught a huge break in their comeback when the Eagles had a late fourth-down conversion nullified on an illegal shift penalty whistled against running back Saquon Barkley.

Houston Texans 44–10 Baltimore Ravens

CJ Stroud threw for 244 passing yards and four scoring throws, and Houston (2-3) strolled to a decisive victory over a depleted Baltimore team, matching both the biggest away victory in Texans' history and the worst home defeat in Ravens' history. The Ravens (1-4) were missing two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, and that was not their only problem. Key defenders multiple defensive leaders all missed the game, and the Ravens already were weakened on defense because of a cervical issue that concluded the defensive lineman's season. The Ravens were also missing Pro Bowl blocker Ricard and tackle Ronnie Stanley.

Colts Rout Raiders in One-Sided Affair

Jonathan Taylor scored three rushing scores and a two-pointer, and the quarterback passed for two scoring throws as the Indianapolis Colts routed the Raiders. The 34-point margin was Indy's largest since 2013. The quarterback finished 20 of 29 for 212 yards and improved to 4-1 as the starting quarterback this year, exceeding his total wins over the past two seasons with the Giants. Taylor rushed 17 attempts for 66 rushing yards and caught three passes for 20 yards. The Colts turned multiple takeaways into touchdowns. Las Vegas dropped to 4-1.

Dallas Cowboys 37-22 New York Jets

Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes, leading the Cowboys to a comfortable win over the Jets. Dallas scored on two long marches in the second quarter, despite missing key linemen on the blocking unit. Javonte Williams gained 135 yards and a score and also hauled in a TD pass. Dallas, now 2-2-1, rebounded from a 40-40 tie against the Packers last week. The Jets are still without a victory at 0-5 in their new coach's first season as head coach.

Vikings Edge Browns in London Thriller

Minnesota wideout Jordan Addison caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Carson Wentz with 25 seconds left to secure the Vikings a win over the Cleveland Browns at the UK venue. This methodical march gave the Vikings (three wins and two losses) a much-needed win on their historic international road trip, which began with a 24-21 loss to the Pittsburgh in Ireland last Sunday. It also spoiled the rookie's first NFL start, as the Browns rookie positioned his squad (one win and four losses) in contention by passing for two touchdown passes. Fellow rookie Quinshon Judkins rushed for 110 rushing yards on 23 attempts. The quarterback shook off a shoulder injury that temporarily sent him to the locker room and led two scoring drives in the latter half.

Panthers Stage Epic Comeback Against Dolphins

Carolina's quarterback passed for two scores and the running back ran for 206 yards and a score as the Carolina Panthers rallied past the Miami Dolphins in their home stadium. Young's short pass to the first-year receiver with under two minutes to play gave the Panthers (2-3) the lead for good as they matched the biggest rally to win a game in franchise history by erasing a large deficit. Young had a poor start, but he finished 19 completions on 30 attempts for 198 passing yards with an interception. Dowdle, filling in for the sidelined starter, did his work on the ground on 23 attempts, falling four yards shy of the team's all-time rushing mark. The Dolphins' quarterback completed 27 passes out of 36 for 256 passing yards with three scores and receiver Waddle gained 110 yards through the air on six catches and added a touchdown, but the Dolphins (1-4) fell to 0-3 in road games.

Saints Secure First Win Under New Coach

Spencer Rattler threw an 87-yard touchdown to receiver Shaheed, defensive back Howden scooped up a loose ball the length of the field for a touchdown, and the Saints defeated the turnover-prone New York Giants for the Saints' initial win under rookie coach Kellen Moore. The QB secured his maiden win in 11 professional starts, throwing for 225 yards without any mistakes. Giants rookie QB Dart, who secured his first career start last Sunday, threw for 202 yards and two scores, but also committed errors on three occasions. The Giants gave up possession five times in all, with none worse than when Bryan Bresee forced a fumble from ball carrier Skattebo, leading to Howden's TD. Both teams are 1-4.
